De-Escalating Violence in Health-Care Settings: Trainers Manual

Tense situations arise frequently in health-care settings, and they escalate to violence far too frequently. The purpose of this course is to teach people working in health-care settings how to notice tense situations from the outset and to defuse them before they get worse. The course helps to improve the participants’ communication skills and teaches key behaviours for reducing and de-escalating tension in health-care setting. The manual is part of a broader set of material for training in de-escalation, comprising a participants’ manual and a dedicated presentation.
