Children in War
Children often pay a heavy price in times of war. They have to endure the direct and indirect consequences of hostilities, both of which can have a lasting impact on their development.
In this publication, we explain the different ways in which armed conflicts adversely affect the physical and psychological well-being of children and what the ICRC does to help them forge a path to recovery. We also explore some of the humanitarian principles and provisions of international law that relate specifically to children.
