Revised Pain Management for the Post-Operative Pain: Adults and Children

ref. 4592
This Post-operative pain management protocol is the ICRC anaesthesia reference document for management of postoperative pain. It is part of the ICRC perioperative guidelines introduced recently in the ICRC-supported hospitals surgical projects. It describes general principles that can be applied to improve acute surgical and trauma pain management. The aim is also to reduce potential errors in drug prescription and administration by developing and implementing evidence-based multimodal pain protocols applicable in the ICRC context. High quality pain management is integral for providing best possible patient care and it is essential part of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery concept. These guidelines were revised by the Pain Committee of the World Federation Society of Anaesthesiologists. These posters provide comprehensive approach to post-operative pain management.
