EcoSec Handbook: EcoSec Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation

ref. 4295
This is the second in a series of three handbooks covering project cycle management from the perspective of economic security. It supplements the first handbook, Assessing Economic Security, and connects to the third in the series, The EcoSec Response – Implementing the Project. The three handbooks accompany the three basic EcoSec training modules of the same names. More specifically, the second handbook covers the main steps of project design (writing objectives, formulating the intervention logic, performing a risk analysis and drawing up a monitoring framework with performance and outcome indicators) as well as monitoring and evaluation. While most examples in the handbook are drawn from the domain of economic security, the methodology and tools presented are fully in line with the ICRC’s organization-wide results-based management approach. The handbook may therefore also be useful for non-EcoSec staff who design and manage projects.
